Tour De Rocklin - Beverly's in the Community

Here at your Rocklin Beverly's, we reflect our community! On October 15, 2011 we had the great opportunity to help at the annual Tour De Rocklin (a bike race around the city of Rocklin).

Centerpieces for tables including bike statues and balloons were provided by your Rocklin Beverly's team!

Color and fun to liven up a bright October day!

Your Rocklin Beverly's team ready to help with bike decorating ideas!

Lindsey & Shayla:

Ribbons and chenille stems and pom-poms galore!

Now that's how I like to ride a bike!

Decked out for Halloween!

We loved seeing the creativity of our riders making license plates for their bikes:

We are so grateful to everyone who participated and make the Tour De Rocklin such a success! We can't wait to come back next year, and keep looking for us out in our community!

Giving Thanks

Here at your Rocklin Beverly's, we are all about gratitude.

With November fast approaching, we realize that it is almost time for Thanksgiving feasts and the holiday season where we reflect on what matters most. Having good family, friends and loved ones around is what this time of year is all about!

Our team is thankful for all of you that support our store and keep crafting local. With a look ahead to Social Crafting this month, we will be making cards to send to our troops on Saturday NOVEMBER 5th from 1-5pm. Come in and craft with us or bring in your own cards to donate! You can find more information on Facebook and RSVP to our special OPERATION CHRISTMAS CARDS event! (more info to come!)

When you come into your Rocklin Beverly's through the end of October, you will see our welcome table decked out in Fall Harvest. We have the perfect things to set the tone for your celebration with all fall floral (wreaths, garlands and more) on sale 1/2 off!

Be inspired by our place settings and color themes! Warm oranges and golds perfectly accent rich greens, chocolate browns and velvet pumpkins.

Wheat bundles and berry sprigs can also be the perfect addition to your fall table.

Place settings with our sunflower blooms bring in the season and pull warmth from our colorful napkins. Fat Quarters from our fabric department can fill in nicely for cloth napkins. Just use pinking shears on the edges and voila!

"Whoooo's ready for pumpkin pie??"

Add a little sparkle at your table with our Swarovski crystal bracelets! They come in a rainbow of colors and look great around candles or even as napkin rings! (Plan ahead and get extras for mom, grandma and cousins. They make great stocking stuffers!)

Whether you're the host this Thanksgiving and need full centerpieces, or visiting friends and just need a hostess gift, we can help you find the perfect item! Stop into your Rocklin Beverly's today and ask a team member for ideas!

Shoe Makeovers & Vintage Scarves

Here at Beverly's there is nothing that we love more than crafting! Every month we have a new social crafting event. September was the month of shoe makeovers and vintage scarves!

The first how-to lets you take any pair of old shoes that need a little bit of pizzaz and make them into something new! Here are our example "before" shots.

Pale Gold Flats:

Hot Pink Heels:

Next, we used our Design Master spray paint, delicate enough for silk and even real flowers, to evenly coat the shoe all around. It is flexible and soft when dry so that you can wear it without worry of cracking, flaking, or caking! (You can find Design Master spray paint at your Rocklin Beverly's on aisle 20!)

Pale Gold Flats into Flirty Coral Flats!

Here you can see the final Garden Glam shoes done and ready to wear at our Social Crafting night!

Hot Pink Heels into Royal Purple Heels!

Of course some extra embellishment was needed. We used hot fix rhinestones to provide some spooky sparkle to the Royal Purple Heels. (You can find these rhinestones at your Rocklin Beverly's aisle 7B!)

Next we adhered the rhinestones to the shoes. These hot fix rhinestones use a heating tool and attachment that melts the adhesive on the back to adhere to clothing, however for the sake of time we ended up using hot glue. You can use fine tweezers to pick up the smaller rhinestones. We used a little bit of wax on the tip of a craft stick to help us hold these tiny treasures:

The result was a swirly spidery delight! Glitter decorative spiders can also be found at your Rocklin Beverly's with our seasonal decor. For the month of October they are even 40% off!

We finished off our swirly witch's shoe with some fabric paint in a dotted swirly design to match. (Find Scribbles fabric paint on aisle 7B at your Rocklin Beverly's!)

And voila! You have spooky shoe that would make even a witch's nose curl!

At our Social Crafting night we even made-over a pair of woven shoes. Here is the "before" in black:

Using the Design Master spray paint we evenly coated the whole shoe...

And here is the "after" result in white:

Ready to wear in a matter of minutes!

Funky and fantastic!
